CARMENTA presented at the major Air Power conference in the Baltics

On 17 March 2022, Alfonsas Juršėnas from the Baltic Institute of Advanced Technology presented the CARMENTA project at the international Air Power conference hosted by the Lithuanian Air Forces in Kaunas, Lithuania.
Launched under European Defence Industrial Development programme in December 2021, the project CARMENTA “Future European Self Protection System for Fixed Wing and Rotary Wing airborne platforms” will design a next generation self-protection system for aerial platforms able to face a wide and heterogeneous spectrum of current and evolving threats in the operational area.
The Air Power conference discussed continued air domain threats in the Baltic region and actions to address these challenges and ensure the highest quality defence in the region's airspace. The conference topics covered the human domain, requirements for future multi-domain joint operations, industry adaptation to meet future joint multi-domain operations, and the air force's future expectations.
The event was attended by commanders of the Lithuanian, Latvian, Estonian, Finnish, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, German and Polish Air Forces as well as major industry representatives, experts and military officials.
