Customised 3D maps for RBS 70 simulators
To further strengthen their air defence capability, the Lithuanian Armed Forces placed an order with Saab for RBS 70 simulators. BPTI has worked together with Saab on integrating customised 3D maps into the RBS 70 simulators to visualise real operational environments for the Lithuanian Armed Forces.
The new RBS 70 simulator allow to train a potential missile operator to engage the most difficult targets. The PC-based simulator has a large number of flight paths, and the instructor can create any aerial threat situation with various kind of targets.
Research: role of AI in disinformation attacks
NATO StratCom COE has contracted BPTI to produce several research reports on the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI), reflecting on the increasing use of AI in disinformation attacks. While AI provides new ways to generate and deliver disinformation, it could also be used to monitor, detect and counter such threats. In the upcoming reports BPTI intends to propose practical solutions, how to adapt to the use of AI in disinformation attacks and thus to contribute to the overall mission of the Centre.
Hydrogen fuel power cells for long endurance UAVs
BPTI has been working within a consortium that has won a contract from a Lithuanian MOD to develop a custom made small scale UAV for military uses. BPTI has focused on developing a fuel system that uses hydrogen in order to achieve long term flight endurance parameters by converting hydrogen into electricity.
Self-driving robots with an ability to track human motion
BPTI has worked with “Rubedo Systems” while building a self-driving delivery robot that could follow the human workers around and provide assistance with weight carriage. The result was fully autonomous LIDAR and Visual recognition using robot that is first of it’s kind in this category. BPTI has worked on the mathematical modelling and hardware prototyping sections of this project.
