PREVISION

Prediction and Visual Intelligence for Security Information

PREVISION is a project related to an information and data stream management to fight against (cyber)crime and terrorism. According to official Europol estimations, (cyber)criminals demonstrate an ever more increasing resolve to exploit new technology to achieve their unlawful purposes. With the exponentially increasing digitisation of our society, opportunities are many: Social media, the Darknet, the Internet of Things (IoT) and other technologies can also be exploited as instruments to either perform or facilitate criminal acts.

Tools developed during the project will allow for automatic discovery of new, unespected relations within the large datasets:

  • Visual intelligence modules

  • Semantic information representation and fusion modules

  • Detection modules of cyber-criminal activities

  • Data mining modules for crime prevention and investigation

  • Trends detection and probability prediction modules for organised terrorism and criminal activities

  • Situation awareness and HMI modules

The overall strategy in the execution of the PREVISION project is based on an iterative development methodology, which involves frequent software releases being made available to the LEA and practitioners end-users for testing and evaluation, resulting in keeping them continuously in the production loop. The PREVISION Platform will be deployed in 10 different demonstrations, managed by the different LEAs and practitioners of the consortium.
